Braided Home Theater TOSLINK SPDIF Digital Optical Audio Cable
This is a JINSHANG TECH optical digital audio cable for S/PDIF TOSLINK ports, transmitting audio as light to eliminate ground loops and electrical noise.
Because the optical path is non-conductive, the unit provides electrical isolation between connected equipment and can be routed past motors, drives and power wiring without picking up noise.
Key Characteristics
- Connector/interface: Black
- Standard length: 180~200dB/km
- Certified to ROHS,ISO9001,CE
- Outer jacket: 5.0mm
- Housing/jacket color: Black
- Fiber diameter: 5.0mm
- Complete electrical isolation eliminates ground loops and mains hum
- Flexible POF lead with precision-molded optical termini
Typical Applications
The unit is commonly used for noise-free audio links in home theater and studio setups. The result is a reliable, repeatable build that tolerates the routing, vibration and repeated handling typical of production installations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is TOSLINK the same as mini-TOSLINK? A: Mini-TOSLINK uses a smaller 3.5 mm-style connector; check the port on your device — adapters or a dedicated mini lead are used where required.
Q: What is a TOSLINK optical cable for? A: It carries S/PDIF digital audio (PCM and compressed surround) between devices as light, avoiding the hum and ground loops common with copper audio leads.
Q: What audio formats does it pass? A: Standard S/PDIF optical carries stereo PCM and compressed Dolby/DTS bitstreams; it does not carry HDMI-only high-bitrate formats.
Q: Will it remove background hum? A: Because the link is optically isolated there is no electrical ground between devices, which typically eliminates ground-loop hum.
